Things To Love About Christmas

It’s a week till Christmas! What! Where did the time go? With school almost over and the holiday approaching really fast it’s time to get really Christmasy! (and let’s forget the fact that I suck at updating my blog and haven’t posted since October).

I am one of those people who loves Christmas and get in the Christmas spirit way before December 1st. Christmas 100% is my favorite holiday.

As I haven written anything in a while now (oops, sorry) I really have to get back into blogging. So since there is exactly a week until Christmas I thought I would share some of the things I love most about Christmas time.
Hope you enjoy !:)

Christmas lights
Everywhere you go there are Christmas lights. Nothing says Christmas more than a lot of lights and it is the most cozy thing ever and it just make me so happy. If I could I would have my whole room decorated with fairy lights - also when it’s not christmas.

Candy, peppernuts, Christmas cookies, gingerbread people, candy corn, marzipan, a lot of chocolate. Nothing is better than the candy/ sweets you can get when it is Christmas time. And because it is december you don’t need an excuse to eat a lot of sweeties everyday - yay.

Christmas Dinner
One thing you always do at Christmas is to eat.  Eat, eat and eat. And honestly even though you may feel fat in the end of December it is the best thing. There is food everywhere and it all tastes wonderful!

Christmas music
I start singing along to the radio when it in late November starts playing Christmas music. Nothing gets you in the mood for Christmas like jamming around to good old Christmas music. Nobody can get tired of listening to Christmas music.

Christmas Films
When it’s december you have to watch tons of Christmas films! And fortunately the TV stations always sends a lot of them up to Christmas. Everybody have there favourite Christmas film. What are yours? I think mine is a tie between The Holiday and Love Actually (Yeah, I’m a sucker for anything romantic).

Buying and wrapping presents
Buying Christmas presents can be really stressful, but at the same time I find it really fun! Finding the perfect present for your mum, dad, boyfriend, friend, family member etc. is one thing, but the best part of present buying it to wrap the present. I love spending time to wrap present in festive looking wrapping paper, making bows and just really decorate it nicely. And then of course putting all the presents under the Christmas tree so it’s all ready for Christmas evening - or morning, depends on when you open your presents.

Advent Calenders
What’s better than being allowed to get a piece of chocolate every morning? okay, maybe as I got older it wasn’t that exciting, but when you are a kid there’s nothing as good as waking up on a december morning to open up your advent calendar. And I must admit I still love advent calendars. One of my friends were so sweet to buy me an advent calendar this year and I’m so happy about it.

Spending time with the people you love
If I have to choose one reason to why Christmas is my favorite holiday it would definitely be because you get to spend time with all the people you love. I know you do that in other holidays too, but there are just something special about Christmas. Everybody is in a good mood and it’s just so nice to have Christmas day (and the days up to) with your family doing the same traditions you have been doing since were a little kid. So whether it’s spending time with your besties, old friends you haven’t seen in a while, your boyfriend or your family it’s just really great. Especially when you can get really cozy and Christmassy and don’t have to stress about school, exams or work. You can just relax and enjoy spending time with the people you care about and that’s my absolutely favourite things about Christmas.

What are your favourite things about Christmas? Let me know in the comments :)

7 Reasons To Love Autumn

S T A R T I N G    A G A I N
Hey – hi, I know I haven’t posted in quite a while, but now I am back and determined that I will keep this blog regularly updated! Hopefully my goal about keep updating my blog weekly will last a bit longer this time.

It’s already October 2nd! I think that September has flown by and that the summer disappeared way too fast. For a girl like me, who absolutely love summer and all things summer-ish it can get a bit depressing when the season is changing to autumn. The sun disappears, the leaves fall of the trees and it gets freaking cold outside. So instead of sulking about how the sad is it, that now we have to wait a whole year for the summer (yeah, I’m a really big fan of summer, okay) I thought I would make a list of all the great things about autumn. Because I have to admit that even though I love the summer to death there is something really cozy and nice about autumn too. So I came up with my 7 favourite reasons to love autumn.

Drinking loads of hot drinks
As it’s getting autumn it’s also getting way colder outside. This means that it is the perfect occasion to make a hot cuppa your daily accessory. Whether you are a true tumblr girl and love your pumpkin spice latte, just are crazy about hot coco or you just really enjoy a cup of hot regular tea – or like me is obsessed with chai tea – autumn means multiple cups per day and it has never been more cozy ever.

Sweater weather
What screams autumn and cozyness more than wearing a lot of knitted sweaters? Not much if you ask me. This is the season where you can practically live in your sweater. Pair it up with some fluffy socks and you’re good to go.

Reading a book
Since it getting a lot colder outside, we tend to spend more time inside, preferably under a blanket or a duvet. Which is the perfect time to read. It can be a reread of your favourite book, finishing up the book are in the middle of or maybe starting on that book you bought over the summer, but just never really had the time actually read.

It’s colder outside= It’s also colder inside = it’s time to light up those candles! If you have scented candles with a lot of autumn-ish scents it cannot get anymore perfect.

Dark makeup
Okay, the title may seem a bit bleak, but I do love dark makeup such as dark toned lips and nails. My favourite is all things in a burgundy/brown-ish shade. For lips my absolute favourite autumn colour is my Mac lipstick in the colour “Media”. It is a brown/burgundy colour and it is really great for autumn and it suits my dark skin tone really well I think. When it comes to nail polish I am in love with a polish from Essie in the colour “Sole Mate”. It is a very dark burgundy colour and looking at the bottle it just screams autumn.
Do you have any favourite lipstick + nail polishes for autumn?

Fairy lights
If you like me just love fairy lights, now is the time to overdo a little when decorating your room for the new season. As is gets darker outside and darker earlier in the afternoon fairy lights is the perfect solution to turn your room into the most cozy place to be. I know for sure that I have to go out at buy me a few more fairy lights to brighten up room.

Days of cozyness
Since it’s getting colder outside and darker too, autumn is the best reason cuddle up with loads of blankets and just watch some good films / Netflix. I must admit I like to do this all year around though, but now you can blame the weather and coldness for your lack of productivity and just spend all day having a cozy time in your bed.

Those are some of my favourite things about autumn. What do you like the most about this season? Let me know in the comments J

Outfit Of The Day - Airpot Edition

(Yes this is me trying to post more frequently, so here's a post I should have put up months ago)

It's an outfit of the day airport/travel edition from went to London two months ago. I took this picture in the morning, just before leaving for the airport. Apologizes for the bad picture quality, it's taken with my phone in bad lightning.

What I am wearing:
Tights: Topshop
T-shirt: Topshop
Sweater: H&M
Shoes: Vans
Lipstick: MAC Media

The leggings I am wearing are from Topshop and they are my favorite thing to wear when I'm going traveling. Whether it's by airplane, car or train I’ll always try to wear them. If you're going to sit in the same position for a couple of hours you have to wear something comfortable. In my opinion leggings are the most comfortable piece of clothing so it’s ideal for traveling.

What are your must-wear items for traveling? Let me know in the comments :)

Beauty Related Things I Suck At

Firstly I want to say that I am well aware of the fact that I am the worst person ever to keep my blog updated. I even wrote half of this post months ago, just never got around to finish it before now. Wish I had a good excuse to why I haven’t posted in such a long time, but I don’t.

When thinking about what to post and try to get to think of beauty related post I started to realize how many (beauty) things I am doing “wrong”. I therefore thought it would be fun to write about my bad beauty habits and hopefully I am not the only beauty blogger who isn’t doing everything correct.

Please tell me I am not the only one who just doesn’t bother with my eyebrows? I know that right now your eyebrows is a very talked about subject when it comes to makeup and there is such a hype about having good eyebrows, but I just can’t figure out how to do it right. I pluck them, yeah, but that’s it. I think they look someway decent (maybe sometimes a bit too over plucked sometimes ops!) but I really wish I were good at filling them in. I have tried a couple of times, but I really think it looks weird on me and too filled in so I just don’t do it. I know that it makes a lot of practice, but I don’t think I will ever like my brows filled in. Not unless I have a professional to do it for me. I think that’s my one beauty area where I have just given up.  Part of me want to grow them out and then get them threaded in the right shape, but I’ve heard a lot of people say it is very painful and I am just not good with pain, so don’t think I’ll take the chance anytime soon.

Washing my brushes

Ugh. I love using different brushes, but I wash them way too rarely. I just find it such a hard (more like boring) task so I just wait until they’re too dirty for me to use. It’s really not good for my skin, but can’t help my laziness.

Cutting off split ends
Hair care is an important thing for me. I use oil (Moroccan Oil love it) whenever I have been washing my hair, so product-wise I am keeping my hair very healthy. It is more the part of getting my hair cut and getting rid of my split ends, that I really suck at. Going to the hairdressers for me sound as terrifying as going to the dentist.  Of course I love the whole get your hair pretty and styled”-part, but the part where I am coming home with shorter hairno thank you. I don’t think I have been to the hairdressers in over a year. (It’s bad I know.) Everybody says the only way to healthy hair is to get your hair cut every three months. I just hate it. The hairdresser never understands how I want my hair and they always cut way too much of! I know that it’s “just hair and it’ll grow out again, but I just know I am going to regret it! That being said I am very tempted to cut a lot of my hair off and get a “just above my nipples bob. Maybe I’ll do it. Maybe I’ll just get my splits tamed and keep my long hair for a while.

Despite the fact that I love a make up look with eyeliner, especially winged eyeliner, I rarely wear it. Why? Because I simply suck at applying eyeliner. The times where I have been wearing winged liner (and it actually looked really great) I got my friend to do it for me. Whenever we are getting ready together I always force her to do my eyeliner of me. I just can’t get both my eyes even when I do it. And I know that your eyeliner does not have to be 100% even to be pretty (like your eyebrows), but mine are just really uneven. Like one eye can look like perfection and the other one can look like a 7-year-old did it.

False eyelashes
Actually I dont know if I suck at wearing false eyelashes because I have never tried it. Yes, I have never (!!) ever tried false eyelashes. Not because I am against it or doesnt find it pretty I just think its terrifying. I dont like the idea of applying glue to my eyelids and then putting false eyelashes on them! Just dont get it.

Wow, this post turned out a bit longer than I thought. Oh well. Apparently there a more than a few beauty things I am no good at.
What are some of your bad beauty habits? Let me know in the comments J

How To: Deal With Hay Fever

I am one of those unfortunate persons who are suffering from hay fever. I thought since so many people are suffering with hay fever and the season is almost upon us I might as well write a post about my tips on how to make life easier when it is hay fever season.

Sunglasses are your best friend
And you need to have them near you all the time. Whenever you go outside always wear sunglasses. That way the pollen avoids getting into your eyes as much. My sunglasses are some Wayfarers from Ray Ban and the thing that is especially good about them in the hay fever season is that they are so big and really covers my eyes. And hey – wearing sunglasses even looks stylish so people aren’t going to notice that you actually are suffering while being outside. Sunglasses are also great for hiding if you have really red and watery eyes.

Minimum make up
If you are reacting to pollen like me and your eyes keeps getting watering and being annoying you should definitely keep back with the make up. A lot of eye makeup and foundations is not a good idea if your eyes keep irritating you. For example I don’t wear mascara on my lower lashes so that if my eyes should decide to be watery I can dry them without smudging my mascara out.

A shower a day, keeps the pollen away
In the pollen season I always takes a shower each evening. That way all the pollen that have been stuck to me (especially my hair) get to be washed off so I don’t take any pollen with my inside so my room and bed especially for the night is pollen free.

Remember you medicine
Of course it is important to remember to take you medicine against hay fever if you have some. Another really important thing that can help you a lot if to take some preventive medicine some months before the hay pollen is at is highest.

I know this post isn’t either beauty or fashion related, but I am pretty sure I am not the only person suffering from hay fever so thought these tips might be helpful.

If you are suffering with hay fever too, please let me know in the comments how you deal with it!

Benefit - Roller Lash Mascara

So time ago Benefit came out with a new mascara – the Roller Lash mascara. I have read a lot of reviews for this mascara, but it took me a while before finally deciding that I needed to try it.

I am very picky when it comes to mascara, I find one I like and then use it for years. I am so afraid of trying new mascaras, so I just keep me to what I know I like. I am a very big fan of They’re Real mascara (also from Benefit) so I thought that I would probably like the Roller Lash mascara now that those two comes from the same brand.

So after reading a lot of blog reviews on it I went out and bought the Roller Lash mascara and I am so happy I did it!  I absolutely LOVE this mascara!

At first I was a bit sceptic because as you can se on the picture below the brush for this mascara seems quite small. But somehow it does not mean anything, as it makes my lashes so curly and long. The issue I have had with previous mascaras is that they add a lot of volume to my lashes, but no length. But this mascara just makes my lashes so perfect. I do have quite long eyelashes naturally, but now they are just extra long, curly and voluminous. And to top it al off the design on the mascara is just so cute! I can’t complain.

If you haven’t tried the Roller Lash mascara yet and are either deciding with yourself whether you should to try it or just for the look out for a new mascara to try, I can only recommend this one. I am so happy with it and I am defiantly going to be my go-to mascara for a while now!

Have you tried the Roller Lash mascara yet? Let me know in the comments what you think about itJ

Jealous Body Scrub

This is such an exciting post for me to write! The brand Jealous Body recently contacted me. They asked if I wanted to try one of their body scrubs in return for me to write a review on my blog. I thanked a big YES and then a few days later a package came to my house. I was so excited to trying it. I got the Jealous Body Scrub with coconut and Coffee. Sounds pretty good to me.

When you first get the scrub you get it in this cute little brown paper bag. There are 200g/7oz in the bag, so I’d say it would last for a couple of weeks depending on how much you use. It does suggest that you use 1-3 hand scoops to your whole body. So that is what I did. On the package it says that the scrub is good at reducing cellulite, stretch marks and other imperfections. So I am curious about seeing after using it for two weeks if I can see & feel a difference in my skin.

I used it after my bath while my skin was wet and damp. At first it felt really weird to scrub it on my skin, because it was like I was putting coffee all over me! After you have scrubbed your body you let it stay for 5-10 minutes before you rinse it off. Rinsing it off felt amazing. I don’t think my skin has ever felt so soft before! Especially when you have just shaved your legs it was amazing. Until now I can only recommend trying out The Jealous Body scrub if you are looking for a body scrub! I am already looking forward to my next shower so I can scrub my body in this gorgeous product! A plus thing is that it smells of coffee! I love the smell of coffee; if you do too this scrub will be a dream to you! If you are interested in trying out this body scrub, you can order it from the website here

I also want to thank the Jealous Body company so much for sending me their product xxx !

Everyday Makeup Look

Recently I have been more and more lazy when it gets to my makeup on an everyday basis. I think mainly it is because I work at a nursery so I don’t think the babies mind if I look like crap ha ha. I don’t use so much time on my face because I’d rather sleep in the mornings, but I have a few products that I have been using everyday for the last month and thought I share my everyday makeup look with you guys.

The products I have used are:

Powder: MAC - Select Sheer NC55
Blush: MAC – Raizin Matte
Eye Shadow: (inner crease) MAC – Sable

February Favourites

It’s the end of the month and it’s time to do a favourite post. I haven’t done one in quite a while now, but this month I have actually discovered some new fantastic products I want to share with you!

Marc Jacobs - Daisy Dream Fragrance

I have been wearing this fragrance everyday since I got it for Christmas. It smells so nice and fresh. I have made a review on it which you can read here.

MAC – Raizin Blush

I love this blush from MAC! It is a matte red/brown-ish shade. I really love that it is matte, because it makes it perfect for contour which is also how I have been using it. I can highly recommend checking this one out if you are looking for a matte blush. I also thinks it stays on pretty much all day, which I think is quite incredible considering I work at a nursery.

Bobbi Brown – Aubergine Lipgloss

Now, I am normally not very fond of lipgloss I am much more a lipstick person. But when I discovered this pretty lipgloss from Bobbi Brown I knew I had to have it. And I was actually really surprised about how pigmented the gloss is. When you swatch the gloss on your hand it looks like it is just sheer, which also is just fine, but when you put it on it actually is a really pretty dark burgundy/brown-ish colour. It fits really good with my skin tone, so I cannot complain! If you are looking for a great lipgloss you should defiantly check out the ones at Bobbi Brown.

Urban Outfitters  - HOLOGRAPHIC Nail Polish
This nail polish is 100% my favourite thing out of all my favourites this month. I was in love when I saw it in the store and fell even more in love when I tried it on I found out how incredible the holographic effect is. I wrote a review on it here if you want to read more about how amazing it is. It is quite expensive, but it is 100% all the money worth in my opinion.

Essie – Sole Mate
I have been looking for a nail polish in this shade for such a long time and then I finally found it! It is the most gorgeous dark (very dark) red/burgundy colour. It almost looks black or brown, but when the light hits your nails, you can see the red/burgundy colour shines through. It is perfect for almost every outfit and I think it looks really classy.

Essie - Grow Stronger Base Coat
I love wearing nail polishes therefore a base coat is a must for me. I got this little gem for Christmas and have been using it non-stop ever since. I wrote a review on it here if you want to read more about it.

So these were some of my favourite things, what are the products you have just loved during February? Let me know in the comments below J
