How to: Survive revision

It's almost summer which also means it’s time for exams. I am graduating High School/ College this summer, so that means a lot of exams for me. If you are that kind of person like me that get easily stressed revision time can be very very unpleasant. Therefore I thought I would make a post about how you can make revision less stressful.

Be organized
To be organized is the most important thing for me when revising. Make a list where you can keep track of all the reading you need to do. In that way you don’t have to keep everything inside your head – for me it’s less stressful. A thing I also like to do is to make a plan over all the days I have to revise and then write down what I will do on the different days.

Snacks & drinks
When preparing for an exam food is my best friend. Whether you would like it healthy or unhealthy make yourself some delicious snacks. When you’re studying all day it’s very important for your brain that you get something to eat. I l love having a plate with small snacks I can just easily eat. Not only eating is important, it is of course also very important that you have something to drink. For me I love refreshing drinks like juice or smoothies! I often fill a big glass with smoothie and then put in a straw and I’m ready to revise!

Music
Sometimes it’s really hard to concentrate if there’s too quiet. Music is a lifesaver when studying! Put on some of your favourite songs and everything will seem a little bit easier! For me putting music also sometimes leads to a dance break in the middle of revision, so that’s always nice!

Go for a walk
I know that when you are revising you are often very busy, but you need to take a break. It doesn’t have to be a three-hours break, just maybe 20 minutes to give your brain a break. One thing I really enjoy doing when revising is to go for a walk. It’s really nice to just take a quick walk to get some fresh air to your brain. Also when you’re sitting down all day it’s very good for your body to go up and move.

Sleep
I often tend to revise to very late in the evening and end up going to bed way too late! It’s very important to get enough sleep so your brain also relaxes. In that way you will also be more fresh and ready for the next day of revision.

That was just some of the things I think is important to remember when you are revising.  My exams are coming up very soon, so I would love to hear what some of your tricks or tips for revision are! :)
